SOLANA BEACH, San Diego County — October 25, 2026. Residents following Solana Beach’s City Council can comment without relying on social-media summaries. The city’s official Public Meetings page provides agendas, video access and public-comment instructions, including two separate advance deadlines that are easy to confuse.

Written public comments: two hours before the meeting

According to the city’s published procedures, written correspondence concerning a Council agenda item should reach the City Clerk’s Office at clerkoffice@cosb.org two hours before the scheduled meeting start. The subject line should include the meeting date and agenda item number. Material received later may not appear online with the item or reach Council members ahead of the session. Readers should always confirm whether a more specific deadline applies to a special hearing.

Remote speakers: earlier Monday deadline

For a regular Wednesday Council meeting, people seeking to speak remotely must register before 5 p.m. on the preceding Monday, using the registration instructions associated with the individual agenda. That is earlier than the two-hour deadline for written correspondence. Attending online as a viewer and registering to speak are different actions. The city provides livestream access through its website and also lists Cox Channel 19, Spectrum Channel 24 and AT&T U-Verse Channel 99.

In-person participation and speaking time

The city’s public-meeting information identifies the physical meeting location as Solana Beach City Hall, 635 South Highway 101, Solana Beach, CA 92075. The published protocol generally gives individual speakers three minutes per agenda item, except that the consent calendar has a combined three-minute allowance. In-person speakers are instructed to submit a speaker slip to the City Clerk before the item is announced. The meeting’s chair and current agenda remain authoritative for real-time procedures.

Official records and the new agenda system

The city notes that it launched a new agenda-management system in January 2026. Residents can find current agendas and older Council meetings via City Council Meetings. The municipality warns that following its transition to the .ca.gov domain, some historical links may be broken; corresponding staff reports can be found in the city’s Laserfiche record archive.

The city explains that agendas for regular meetings must be posted at least 72 hours before and special-meeting notices at least 24 hours before. Meeting dates may be changed or canceled. An agenda packet is not proof that a proposal was passed; use approved minutes or an official action agenda to determine outcomes.

Accessibility assistance

Solana Beach advises people who need disability-related modifications or alternate-format agendas to contact the City Clerk’s Office at (858) 720-2400, preferably at least 72 hours before the meeting. For general inquiries, use clerkoffice@cosb.org. The exact request process should be confirmed against the posted meeting instructions.
