Solana Beach Community Connections Collects Holiday Gift Baskets for Seniors Living Alone

SOLANA BEACH — CALIFORNIA58 LOCAL. Solana Beach Community Connections is organizing its annual holiday gift-basket program for older residents who live alone. The city is supporting the nonprofit’s drive by providing a drop-off location at City Hall, 635 South Highway 101.

What residents should know

Gift items may be donated from November 2 through Thursday, December 10, during the listed collection hours of 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday. The city warns that City Hall is closed on alternating Fridays.

Requested items include 2027 calendars, crossword or Sudoku books, hot-chocolate packets, holiday mugs, small lotions, non-slip socks, eyeglass cleaners and similar practical gifts. Donors should consult the full list before shopping.

Organizers also invite community members to identify Solana Beach seniors living alone who may benefit. Referrals should be directed through the nonprofit’s published contact, info@solanabeachcc.org, with appropriate care for the privacy and consent of the person named.

The release says volunteers will assemble and deliver baskets after the donation period. It does not establish that all proposed recipients are guaranteed a basket.
